Follow The Frogs specialises in nature-based journeys in Japan, starting with the Kii Peninsula. Local places, wild views, deeper experiences. The best part? All with the comforts of Japan.

Kero from Tobi & Kai!
We’re a Singaporean couple who swapped the city skyline for countryside Japan. After spending extended time travelling to over 40 countries, we found our calling in the Kii Peninsula and decided to stay. Now, we’re inviting you to follow us as we share our favourite corners, one journey at a time.

Explore Japan through our lens
We’ve handpicked the locations, tested the routes, and put together a collection of ready-to-go journeys, guided by the values we stand for. Choose how you want to travel, and we’ll take care of the groundwork.
Who is this for?
Travellers drawn to Japan’s countryside, but do not know where to begin.
People who appreciate nature and the outdoors, but still want a comfy bed.
Friends, couples, families who enjoy travelling at own privacy and pace, minus the legwork.
Come along with us
Some journeys are better shared. A few times a year, we open up a small number of hosted tours to experience our home ground, the Kii Peninsula. We’ll explore, hike, cook, and drive together; from sea to mountains and back again.

Logistics were seamless throughout from accommodations to meals and route planning allowing us to truly switch off and enjoy the journey. The small group size also made the experience feel intimate and personalised.Wesley, Singapore
Our entire family felt supported, encouraged, and safe throughout the journey. Tobi and Kai created an experience that was both informative and fun, and their care and attention to detail made all the difference. This was far more meaningful than simply walking the trail alone, and it will remain one of our family’s most treasured travel memories.Stacey, Colorado, USA
Tobi and Kai, thank you for a most memorable trip of a lifetime and for organising and booking our 17 day adventure in Japan. Your itinerary was detailed and perfect and it was just how we like to travel. The itinerary meant that we experienced both the social and cultural sides of life in Japan and we felt lucky to be travelling off the traditional paths.Rick and Lindy, Australia
We traveled as a family with two young children (ages 9 and 4) and my father, and our time with Tobi & Kai was nothing short of wonderful. Traveling with them felt like being on a holiday with good friends who truly know and love the land. While the itinerary might look simple at first glance, the actual experience was so incredibly rich that we are still talking about it months after returning home.Dionne, Singapore
Their undeniable sincerity and dedication to showcasing the absolute best of Wakayama are evident in everything they do. They took the time to thoughtfully customise a bespoke itinerary that aligned perfectly with my preferences. The pacing was never overly rushed, yet structured enough to ensure I enjoyed a remarkable variety of locations.Marina, Singapore
Kai and Tobi created an excellent experience for my family and I. The communication before and during the trek was clear and alleviated any planning and logistics stress. The accommodations were well curated and diverse each day. I highly recommend this team if you want the best experience and don’t have the time / skills to do all the in depth research required to make the Kumano Kodo a pleasurable and inspiring experience.Michael, Colorado, USA
They took wonderful care of our family, and every stop they planned suited our travel style perfectly. The itinerary was carefully planned, family-friendly, and made the whole trip easy, comfortable, and enjoyable.Adeline, Singapore
As someone who doesn’t enjoy big packaged tour groups, this private tour felt personal and well tailored to our travel style. My family and I had a truly wonderful time and we would definitely return to experience Kii Peninsula during other seasons with Follow The Frogs!Alex, Singapore
What we especially appreciated was the level of personalization you brought to the experience. The guidance you provided for each segment of the trail was incredibly helpful and enhanced the overall experience. Your responsiveness and support throughout the trip also gave us great peace of mind. Knowing that assistance was readily available if needed made the journey even more enjoyable and stress-free.Doris, Seattle, USA

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Not really! Age isn’t the deciding factor. What matters more is your mobility and comfort with the activities involved. Our journeys vary in pace and activity levels; some are more relaxed, while others are better suited to travellers who enjoy being active. If you’re unsure which journey is right for you, just get in touch and we’re happy to help.
Expect a mix of cosy and unique stays, curated by us. We’ll arrange traditional ryokans with fluffy futons and hot springs, welcoming guesthouses, and, if you’re up for it, a night under the stars (don’t worry, it’s not survival camping). You won’t find budget or backpacker-style accommodation here.
Where driver services are available, we’re happy to help arrange one. However, in some remote areas of Japan, dedicated driver services can be unavailable. Taxis may get you from point to point, but they generally won’t wait while you explore. That’s why some of our journeys are designed as self-drive, giving you the freedom to reach places that are harder to access otherwise. If you’d prefer not to drive, we also have journeys designed around public transport, or we can explore a bespoke trip with you.
We can’t promise a five-star vegan menu deep in the mountains, but we’ll do our best! Let us know your dietary needs ahead of time, and we’ll work with local hosts to make sure you’re looked after.
Yes! We are a Singapore-licensed travel agency (Licence No. TA03926) regulated by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Being a licensed travel agency means we meet STB’s requirements for financial standing and ongoing reporting, including a minimum paid-up capital and regular submission of audited accounts. These requirements help provide greater protection and peace of mind when booking your trip with us.
